Brittany Wise, MFT S/T
Pre-licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Hi there! I am Brittany Wise, a marriage and family therapist here at Lyons Center. I’m currently accepting new clients seeking individual, couples, or family therapy through self-pay.
Following evidence-based approaches to therapy, I rely on John Gottman’s approach and Sue Johnson’s emotionally focused therapy (EFT) when working with couples. When I see families I like to follow an attachment-based approach. For individual therapy, and depending on each client’s presenting issues, I follow cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to support and when needed challenge my clients.
My therapeutic stance is that my clients are the experts of their lives and I join them in the process of making shifts to better live according to their values. I let my clients decide the focus of our work with that, I am biased in that I favor relational therapy and promote family sessions or couple work when appropriate.
I graduated from Mercer University School of Medicine in July 2025 with my Master’s of Family Therapy. During my coursework and practicum experience, I obtained the requirements for the Georgia Associate Marriage and Family Therapy License and will receive the license after I sit for the National License Exam in early 2026. As an early career therapist, I am dedicated to providing ethical, and research-based therapeutic services. I am working under an AAMFT accredited supervisor and seek guidance from other licensed professionals when necessary.
*Brittany expects to begin accepting insurance-based clients early 2026.
