You've Probably Been Debating This for a While

Maybe you've thought about calling a therapist for months. Maybe longer. You've wondered if your problem is "big enough" to justify it, or told yourself you should be able to handle it on your own. Most people who end up in our office had that same hesitation right up until the moment they picked up the phone.

Why Bettina Started Lyons Center

After years working in a variety of clinical settings, Bettina Lyons opened her own private practice so she could see the clients her community actually needed her to see — without the restrictions of someone else's system dictating who she could work with. What started as a solo practice grew because other clinicians kept asking to join her. Today, Lyons Center is a team of ten, built one clinician at a time around what Warner Robins needs.

How We Work

We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, because your situation isn't one-size-fits-all. Across our ten clinicians, you'll find Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) or the Gottman Method for couples work, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for anxiety and overwhelm, Family Systems work for blended families and relational conflict, and play therapy for children who need a different way to express what's going on. We match you to the approach — and the clinician — that actually fits, not a script we run for everyone.

Our Team's Training

Lyons Center is led by Bettina Lyons, LMFT, licensed by the State of Georgia (MFT001081), in practice for over 21 years, and certified by the American Association for Marriage & Family Therapy since 2004. Alongside Bettina, our team of ten clinicians includes licensed marriage and family therapists, a licensed professional counselor, and supervised clinical associates working toward full licensure.

Why This Work Matters to Us

In 2021, Bettina added her first team member, Kristen, and watching her grow into her own as a therapist is part of what convinced Bettina to keep building the team. That's the part of this work she loves most: not just helping clients, but creating a place where good clinicians can do their best work, so more of the community can be seen and supported.

What We Believe About Change

We don't think therapy is about being fixed, because you were never broken. We think it's about understanding the patterns that formed for good reasons at some point in your life, and building something different from here. That takes real work — yours and ours together — and we don't pretend it happens overnight. What we can promise is that you won't be doing that work alone.
